Discover below the fabrics we most commonly use and how to best care for your garments depending on fabric type.

Silk

Despite its reputation as a delicate fabric, silk is a hard wearing fibre. Silks have different weights and finishes, so depending on these factors the care instructions can change.

If in doubt, always dry clean.  A silk satin (shiny finish to the fabric) will always be dry clean only to ensure the finish stays luxurious and soft. If wet, a satin finish will leave water marks and/or lines.

Silk twill and silk crepe can be machine washable (delicate & cold wash) and hung to dry in the shade.

Dry clean

If in doubt, always dry clean. Dry cleaning uses low moisture techniques, allowing them to be cleaned and repaired. This will ensure that the finish of the garment stays luxurious and soft.

Cold Wash

These can be washed in the washing machine on a cold delicate wash. If you’re worried, put them in a lingerie bag and make sure to wash them with similar colours. Lay flat to dry in the shade

Air dry

After washing, air dry your cotton in the sun or if you have silks, wool or synthetics we recommend drying in the shade.
